Activision announced yesterday that their latest release in the Call of Duty franchise,
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, has become the biggest launch in the history of entertainment. That includes movies, music, video games, etc... Internal Activision estimates have reported sales of $310 million in the first 24 hours of release in North America and the United Kingdom. Just to put it in perspective, this figure doubles the take of the film
The Dark Knight on it's record setting opening weekend in 2008 of $155 million. Activision goes on to say in their press release that this equates to approximately 4.7 million copies having been sold. Quite astonishing figures.

The latest
Grand Theft Auto IV patch includes some minor enhancements and fixes that allows for addition keyboard mapping, fixes to multiplayer game play and more. The full list of patch notes are listed on the patch page. However, the one thing that's not officially listed in the patch could be the most interesting. The patch also supports Games for Windows Live acheviements for 'The Lost and Damned' DLC that had only be available to Xbox Live users. There's been no official announcement on this yet but including the achievements from the DLC episode a good sign that it'll be available for the PC vertion of
Grand Theft Auto IV soon.
