In a recent interview with Game Informer, Karl-Magnus Troedsson the General Manager of DICE, confirmed that the upcoming Battlefield 3
is being primarily developed for the PC first before they rework the code for the consoles. For PC gamers, this is especially nice to read considering many recent big name titles such as Call of Duty Black Ops
and Fallout New Vegas
have been ports released with some major bugs
, leaving a sour taste with some fans.
In some more good news for PC gamers, it was also confirmed that Battlefield 3 multiplayer will support dedicated servers and a return to online battles with up to 64 players. The console versions is planned to have support for 24 players in multiplayer online battles, but there have been conflicting reports on the exact number for console multiplayer. Battlefield 3
will include many of the favorite game mechanics that have made the series a hit with full single player campaign and multiplayer game modes. The game is due out in Q4 2011.
