When Grand Theft Auto 3 was released back in 2001, it was acclaimed for its state of the art graphics and sandbox style game play. Now ten years later the gameplay and story are still top notch, but those graphics really don't hold up too well based on todays standards. That's why fans of the first sandbox/third person style Grand Theft Auto game are thrilled that's its getting a fan made makeover. A group of developers calling themselves The Rage team is currently working on remaking Grand Theft Auto 3 to run on the Rage game engine. This is the same game engine that's used in the latest Rockstar titles such as Grand Theft Auto IV, Max Payne 3 and others. In addition to the graphic upgrade the GTA III Rage mod will include previous popular mods such as GTA III HD Cars - HD Claude, GTA SA: Liberty City, Project Oblivion, and GTA III HD. The GTA III Rage Team has released a teaser trailer which looks very impressive. Details on when this will be available has not been revealed.
