The Bottom Line
- Visually, graphics stunning.
- Realistic, upclose & intense modern combat.
- Excellent multi-player capability.
- Limited AI. Missions sometimes too scripted.
- Waypoints must be followed; Limits freedom.
- Short overall game storyline.
Description
- DFBHD improves upon the somewhat disappointing DF Land Warrior, with better game-play, and story.
- Unfortunately the storyline for DFBHD is a bit short and ends leaving you wanting more.
- The missions are scripted so playing multiple times will lead to repetition and then boredom.
- Some are so scripted, playing them over and over to find out when to duck, dodge, & shoot is a must.
- Excellent multi-player capability.
Guide Review - Delta Force: Black Hawk Down Review
Sticking with the single player game, there are some features that gamers looking for something different in a FPS won't find. For instance the missions are scripted, so much so at times that it makes the AI seem a bit lackluster and mindless. Also following the mission waypoints is a must, this leads to a lack of freedom compared with games such as Grand Theft Auto 3.
Black Hawk Down succeeds as a first person shooter with great visual graphics and sound. It does however, miss on a few aspects such as over scripted missions, and short overall storyline.
