Guide Review - Unreal Tournament 2004 Review

Question: What's the difference between Microsoft Office 2000, Office XP, and Office 2003?

Now this rhetorical question doesn't really need answering but if you guessed "not much" you'd be correct. To me, Unreal Tournament 2003 was just that, an upgrade with a few new features but the same overall feel.

That was also my feeling in seeing the release of UT2004, just another upgrade. That was until I was blown away by what was being delivered through my computer.

One of the biggest upgrade features of Unreal Tournament 2004 is the addition of vehicles to the combat. Ground, aerial and space combat are involved in UT2004.

Unreal Tournament 2004 also sports 10 game modes, capture the flag, deathmatch, assault, onslaught and more. The Onslaught mode is most unique and fun new mode. It pits up to 32 player teams against each other on a huge map with the goal being to destroy the opposing teams "power core". It's not as simple as it sounds though, certain tasks must be completed first in order to be able to destroy each teams power core. There is a single player mode to Unreal Tournament but where it excels is in it's mulitplayer mode.

The graphics and visual effects for Unreal Tournament 2004 are excellent, the fluid and fast paced animation make game play second to none. The game does come at a cost, it takes a huge amount of hard disk space to store(5+ GB) but UT2004 is well worth uninstalling something in order to make room.
