Guide Review - Commandos 3: Destination Berlin
The game begins with a nice tutorial, learn about a few of the different abilities that their soldiers can perform, then head out for your first mission.
Upon completing the tutorial, players can choose one of the game's three campaigns; Normandy, Stalingrad or Central Europe. After this selection is made however, the game becomes somewhat lost in a distracting user interface that ultimately leaves players frustrated.
Unlike previous titles, there are no customizable hotkeys for selecting characters, weapons, equipment, and more. Usually in a sequel players see more characters, more weapons, different enemies, etc. Commandos 3 does have some new weapons, but unfortunately the driver character has been eliminated.
Commandos 3 also does not support graphics resolution above 800x600, for someone who uses a large monitor, this is a major disappointment.
Any one of these alone doesn't make or break the game, but having them all, just compounds things into one frustrating gaming experience. One can always hope for a patch that addresses a few of these features.
