Battlefield: 1942 Armies Battlefield: 1942 allows you to choose, depending on the game map, one of the five major powers that were at war during World War II.  They include the U.S.A., Germany, U.K., Japan, & Russia.  Each country contains unique vehicles but they are all generally operated in the same fashion.

Vehicles of Battlefield: 1942 - Battlefield: 1942 has a wide variety of authentic World War II combat vehicles from all of the major countries that battled.  There are 3 general types of vehicles, land, sea & air, each of which can be controlled via the keyboard and mouse.  Land & sea vehicles are controlled with the general first person keys of W,S,A & D to speed up, slow down, left, right, respectively.  Airplanes are similar but add a pitch and roll feature that makes things a little challenging.  It's suggested that players with out flight sticks stay away from the planes.
