Medal Of Honor: Allied Assault Review
The Medal of Honor series has been extremely popular for the Sony Playstation
and is now available for the PC. Allied Assault follows the story of a fictional
charachter named Lieutenant Mike Powell, member of the famed 1st Ranger Battalion.
With him you'll battle through 20 + levels based on historicl World War II conficts
from Africa to France, even into the heart of Germany itself. The game also
includes dozens of World War II weapons and vehiciles used by both
theAllied and Axis Armies.
Similar in many regards to Return to CastleWolfenstein, this game is distinctly different. To begin with is the D-Day mission. WHen the doors to your transport open up, complete chaos surrounds you. Many are reminded of the opening scenes from Saving Private Ryan, it is that chaotic. Traveling from your boat to the safety of some shore line shelter is no easy chore.

The Graphis(as can been seen in screen shots) and AI for Allied Assualt are top notch. Enemies will lay down cover fire, duck, and even throw your grenades back at you. Using the Quake II graphics engine and models of characters and vehicles make the graphics extremely realistic
Multiplayer for Allied Assault leaves a little something to be desired, and must be launched throught Game Spy if you want to play with people over the Internet. For those World War II history buffs looking for some great realism you'll find it in Allied Assault from the weapons and vehiciles all the way to the uniforms. The "T" rating is suitable for this game which is violent at times but does not warrent an "M" rating since there's no blood. All in all, Medal of Honor succeeds in being transformed from a console game to a PC first person shooter game.
