Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion returns players to the fantasy world of Tamriel, a familiar world to players and fans of the Elder Scrolls series. Set in Tamriel's capital provinence, Cyrodiil, as players try begin a great quest to find the heir to the recently murdered Emperor. The empty throne has opened the gates to Oblivion,(hell in the fantasy world of Tamriel) and evil creatures and demons have begun to invade.
Players are given the ability to complete the main quest at their own pace, taking on side adventures, joining various guilds or factions each with their own storyline. Elder Scrolls IV open ended game play gives players to do what the want, when they want to, through most of the game.
Another key feature of Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion is the game's new AI engine called Radient AI, NPCs are no longer just a side not to adventures. In Elder Scrolls IV they come to life and have the ability to make their own choices based on the events and encounters throught the game.
