The audio sound effects can not be understated; the game has no background music, the only musical piece heard is during the opening credits. Doom 3 relies entirely on the sound effects of the setting, movement, characters, and weapons. To my surprise it does an excellent job in making the scenes more terrifying. Armed with a set of 5.1 surround sound speakers will add to the realism of the game and help in the overall gaming experience.

The auditory and visual effects make this game a milestone in the development of video games and 3-D game engines. Doom 3 is rated M for Mature, it is extremely violent. After approximately 20 hours of intense action and horrifying play the game does end leaving you to ponder what could be next?
