Quake is another classic first person shooter from id Software. In it players take on the role of a soldier who is sent to stop an strange enemy called Quake. There are more than 30 levels and was one of the early shooters to feature multiplayer capability. There are quite a few sites that list Quake as freeware but many of the links are actually a shareware version of the game.
