About Grand Theft Auto V

While the title suggests that Grand Theft Auto V is the fifth title in Grand Theft Auto series it is in fact the first title in the fifth "era" of the Grand Theft Auto Series. Rockstar Games announced that the title was in full development on October 25, 2011. It will be set in the fictional city of Los Santos, in the similarly fictional state of San Andreas, both of which are modeled after Los Angeles, CA. The same setting that was featured in Grand Theft Auto San Andreas.

Features & Gameplay

Grand Theft Auto V will feature similar third person open-sandbox style game play found in previous Grand Theft Auto titles. Specific features have not yet been released.

While official ratings have not yet been made available, if Grand Theft Auto V is anything like its predecessors it will most likely be rated M for Mature based on the ESRB rating system and 18+ based on PEGI.

Genre & Theme

Grand Theft Auto V is a third person action game that is set in a large, open, sandbox style game world where players are free to move about and complete missions as they please. The crime/criminal based theme, which is the mainstay of the series, will put players in the role of down on his luck individual who turns to a life of crime and begins their climb of the criminal hierarchy.

Grand Theft Auto V is developed by Rockstar North, the same development company, under one name or another, that has created all of the Grand Theft Auto games as well as Red Dead Redemption, Manhunt, Manhunt 2 and others.
