The Bard's Tale

Game Page

By Michael Klappenbach, About.com

Description:
From Guide - The Bard's Tale is the ultimate classic RPG game for the PC released back in the mid 1980s. This version was released back in late 2004 for the Sony Playstation and Xbox, the PC version however is hoping to trump those by offering better graphics quality with the same RPG action.

The new Bard's Tale puts you in the role of our hero bard and this is a modern interpretation of the original Bard's Tale. InXile, the developer has given the game a comic nature with or hero being somewhat lackluster and not entirely thrilled about being a hero or having to go on an adventure. From the descriptiosn however the game does seem to stay to it's dungeon crawl nature although the graphics are much better than the two dimensional boxes for buildings.

Some of the features include a non-linear storyline, you decide the Bard actions and the tone conversions which can change the course of events througout the game. The Bard's tale is played in the third person perspective and also features unique characters taht add to the humor and enjoyment of the game.
