About Battlefield: 1943
Battlefield: 1943 is the sequel to the game the award winning and best selling multiplayer shooter Battlefield: 1942 that started a wave of multiplayer FPS releases that continues to this day. Battlefield: 1943 is set entirely in the Pacific Theater of Operations during World War II and gives players the option of playing as US Marines or for the Japanese Imperial Army. Each country has three different types of soldiers to choose from; Infantry, Rifleman or Scout. Much like previous Battlefield titles, Battlefield: 1943 will contain the same first person shooter game play and includes drivable and flyable vehicles. Some of these include the F4U Corsair, Sherman Tank, and the Japanes Type 97 Chi_Ha Tank just to name a few. Upon release there will be four multiplayer maps available in Battlefield: 1943; Wake Island, Iwo Jima, Guadalcanal and the Coral Sea. Battlefield: 1943 is a digitally distributed game only.
