Borderlands is a sci-fi first person shooter that is set at the edge of the galaxy. Human colonists have traveled to the planet Pandora in the hopes of prosperity. However, things go wrong from the start and soon the planet's native inhabitants begin to wake from hibernation. Their only hope is to learn and take advantage of recently discovered advanced alien technology before it's too late. Game Play
There are four unique characters that players can play in Borderlands; a Berserker named Brick, a Siren named Lilith, a Hunter named Mordecai and a Soldier named Roland, with each character having their own unique skills and abilities. This along with leveling and other role playing game elements has led Gearbox to coin a unique genre for Borderlands, the role playing shooter. Players will also have a lot of choices when it comes to picking a weapon to fight with, Borderlands is reported to have a variety of different weapons/guns that numbers in the millions. This is due in part to the randomly generated content built into Borderlands that generates thousands of unique weapons, random missions, and more. Borderlands will also include drivable vehicles and a hundred or more side quests and missions that can be used to help gain experience, weapons, alien technology and more.
