Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is actually only the third title in the Call of Duty Series that has been released for the PC. The original Call of Duty and Call of Duty 2 were set during World War 2 while Call of Duty 4 moves the series into the modern age. Call of Duty 3 was also set during World War 2 but was never released for the PC.
In the single player portion of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare players take on the role of a US Marine and British SAS operative as they fight in a fictional future war between US, Europe and Russian Loyals against Middle East and Russian Rebels. The single player campaign will have players fighting in Eastern Europe and parts of the Middle East across 3 main acts.
The multiplayer portion of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is very similar to other multiplayer first person shooters with a class based system of five classes; Assault, Special Ops, Heavy Gunner, Demolitions, and Sniper. It also features an unclocking system, as players gain experience and levels they are provided with additional weapons and enhancements.
