Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 is the third title in the Red Alert series and the first to be released in seven years. The Red Alert sub series of the Command & Conquer series that takes place in an alternative timeline, one in which Adolf Hitler is the killed before taking power in Germany.
Continuing the story started in Red Alert 2, Red Alert 3 has the Soviet Union traveling back in time with the hopes of restoring it's former glory and power. However things don't go as planned and an alternative timeline is formed that sees the creation of the game's 3rd faction. The Empire of the Rising Sun which is a the former Imperial Empire of Japan.
Red Alert 3 will contain 3 playable factions; The Soviet Union, the Allies and the Empire of the Rising Sun and it will contain both a single, multiplayer and co-op game modes. Fans of the Red Alert series of game can be assured that units will be as wacky and interesting as they have been in past games. Examples of the unique units include Tesla coils, heavily armed War Blimps, teleportation, armored bears, intelligent dolphins, floating island fortresses, and transforming tanks.
