Empire: Total War continues the tradition of grand turn based and real time strategy that has made the Total War series one of the most critically acclaimed and popular game series in it's genre. In Empire Total War players command factions through the eighteenth century Age of Enlightenment as they attempt to conquer the globe.
For the first time, players will be able to command real-time 3D naval sea battles with individual ships and large fleets of 18th century galleons. Combat moves quickly from ship to ship cannon fire to man to man musket fire as you command your ships to grapple in hopes of taking control of the enemy ships.
In addition to naval combat, firearms have found their way into Empier Total War, with this comes the need for new strategies, tactics and troop formations. Empire: Total War also features enhanced user interface with new rules and AI for trade, diplomacy and espionage. Empire Total War spans the globe with North America, East Asia and Europe all playing a primary role in your factions goal for conquest.
