The Grand Theft Auto series of action/adventure video games in which players take on the role of a petty criminal who they will guide to the top of the crime world. Players start out with small crimes which get bigger and bolder as his reputation grows. Grand Theft Auto games have elements of third person shooters, driving, action/adventure and stealth genre. All but the first two titles are sandbox style games which gives players a great deal of freedom in exploring the environments and completing objectives.

Grand Theft Auto IV is actually the sixth title in the Grand Theft Auto series of games to make it to the PC. In it players take on the role of Nikolai "Niko" Bellic who has come to Liberty City to start a new life. Soon after arriving Niko must fend for himself and turns to a life of crime.

Grand Theft Auto San Andreas may be the most controversial title in the Grand Theft Auto series when it was slapped with an Adults Only rating after the discovery of hidden adult material which was unlocked with the Hot Coffee Mod. This content has since been removed.

The first game in the series looks quite a bit different from what you may be use to seeing in a Grand Theft Auto game. Grand Theft Auto is a 2D, top down viewpoint game that follows a series of missions/levels each set in a city with the main objective of scoring a certain number of points which opens the game to harder/higher missions and levels.
