Once again the holiday season is upon us and with it comes a flood of new video game releases. I've put together a list of some of the latest and greatest computer action games to hit store shelves in the past few months. This list doesn't cover everything but should be a good starting point if you're looking for some of the hottest PC games as gift ideas.

BioShock

BioShock is a superb game on all levels. The game play and features are fresh and exciting while the game's environments and graphics are a visual delight to the eyes. However it's the compelling storyline that will captivate, pull you in, and leave you wishing for more when it's all over.

Crysis

An alien race has invaded earth in this sci-fi action shooter from Crytek, the creators of the 2004 hit Far-Cry. Set in 2019, Crysis puts players in the role of Jack Dunn, a Delta Force agent, as he trys to save the planet, battling aliens with all types of state of the art weapons and equipment. Cryis contains a detailed single player campaign and multiplayer mode which supports up to 32 players.

Hellgate London

Part first person shooter, part role playing game, Hellgate London is a post apocalyptic game set in a future under seige by hordes of Demons. Massive and detailed environments await as players gain experience and level up through action packed battles through underground dungeons, city streets, and more.

World in Conflict

World in Conflict is a real-time tactical game (a.k.a. real time strategy) set in 1989 just before the fall of the Soviet Union. However in World in Conflict, the Soviet Union does not fall and the world spirals into conflict. The game contains three game modesl; a single player campaign, skirmish mode and multiplayer mode. Players can choose from one of two factions in the single player campaign (USA or Nato), while multiplayer allows for play as USA, NATO or the Soviet Union.
Genre: Strategy - Real-Time Tactical

Gears of War

The smash Xbox360 hit, Gears of War is making it's way to the PC as a Games for Window title. Gears of War is a third person shooter as elite forces battle to save the inhabitants of the planet Sera. The Windows version of Gears of War will contain advanced DirectX 10 graphics as well as addition content not found in the console version with five new single player campaign chapters.

The Witcher
