Guide Review - Area 51
As Ethan Cole (voiced by David Duchovny), a member of the military's Hazardous Materials Special Unit or Hazmat Team, you and your team are assigned to investigate what has gone wrong. Over the course of 18 levels the storyline and plot twists and turns uncovering new clues as you delve deep into the myths and mysteries of Area 51.
The game play and interface for Area 51 is typical of virtually all first person shooters, it includes a detailed single player campaign along with a very average multiplayer game mode.
Area 51 excels in it's intense battles and firefights, the graphics and visual affects are quite amazing. However, the game does fall a little short in certain areas which prevent me from giving it a higher star rating. The storyline seems a bit simplistic at times, and some of the in game elements and environments seem to borrow from other shooters such as Half-Life 1 & 2, and Doom 3 just to name a few.
If you're looking for a fun and intense first person shooter, then Area 51 should be perfect for you. But, if you're searching for a game with a truly compelling storyline and plot to go along with this great action, you'll probably only be partially satisfied with Area 51.
