Thousands of video games were released in 2002. With this many games it's difficult to pick a few out of all the different genre of games. Here are my top computer action games that were released in 2002. I based my picks on a combination of features, including; graphics, game-play, single player options, mutli-player options, and overall gaming experience satisfaction.

1. No One Lives Forever 2: A Spy In Harms Way

A unique funny storyline is just one of the great aspects of this first person shooter. As spy Cate Archer, you play the role of the quentisential 1960s British Spy. One of the funnest games of the year.

2. Battlefield: 1942

Battlefield 1942 is every history buff's dream, you can play the role of one of five classes of soldier, drive more than 35 vehicles and use authentic looking and sounding weapons. 1942 seems to contain the best features from the recent World War II games such as Medal Of Honor, & Return to Castle Wolfenstein, and many features of it's own that make this one unique gaming experience.

3. Neverwinter Nights

Dungeons & Dragons, the famous table top role playing game comes to life on the PC in Neverwinter Nights. It's the closest that the PC gaming world has come to replicating the table top game. Multi-player options are limitless.

4. Age of Mythology

Age of Mythology is the follow up to Ensemble Studios Age of Empires series. With an all-new 3-D graphics engine and new features such as god powers, Age of Mythology will have thousands of people playing online in no time.

5. Hitman 2: Silent Assassin

Hitman 2: Silent Assassin is the sequal to Hitman: Codename 47. Silent Assassin has a good deal of stealth involved in some missions which adds to the uniqueness of this game. The AI is good and if you don't remain stealthy then you're in for a short game. A much impoved followup to the original Codename 47.

Grand Theft Auto 3 is a modern day action game that puts you in the shoes of a common criminal who's trying to make a reputation for himself in the crime world. With a huge world to explore and the open ended style of the missions, Grand Theft Auto has get flexibility in game-play. Watch out though, the longer you're out there causing trouble, the more the Law is going to be on your tail.

7. Unreal Tournament 2003

The sequeal to the former game of the year Unreal Tournament, take your warrior into battles in futuristic arenas. Six different races, 35 characters and more than 30 maps.

10. Freedom Force

Freedom Force looks and sounds like it's straight out of a 1960's silver age comic book era. After the first two missions players have the ability of deciding which of the 14 original heroes will do battle in each mission, in an effort to save Patriot City from Lord Dominion.
