Activision announced today that their block buster game Call of Duty Black Ops II has grossed $1 billion in sales in the first 15 days of launch. This staggering number bests the record set last year in 16 days by Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 and also surpasses the 17 days it took the film Avatar to reach $1 billion. It's also worth mentioning that half of the $1 billion gross revenue came in the first day of release.
While the first week of release was a little rocky in terms of bugs and issues, the game has been patched a number of times for the various platforms and has garnered very good reviews holding strong with 78/100 aggregate score on metacritic.
