With the holiday upon us, this expansion will be sure to fly off shelves. Includes 9 single player missions based on the paratrooper drop on D-day. More than 15 new weapons plus new mulitplayer features.
Battlefield 1942 is every history buff's dream, you can play the role of one of five classes of soldier, drive more than 35 vehicles and use authentic looking and sounding weapons. 1942 seems to contain the best features from the recent World War II games such as Medal Of Honor, & Return to Castle Wolfenstein, and many features of it's own that make this one unique gaming experience.
MOHAA and Castle Wolfenstein became instant classics with stunning graphics and no stop action it's hard to dispute. The D-Day mission alone is what seperates this game form Wolfenstein and gets the nod as my #3 pick...don't worry Castle fans...you're at #4.
Game of the year winner from 2 years ago, this is still a must for any WW2 or gaming fan. Make sure to keep a look out for the Wolfenstein sequal/expansion <i>Enemy Territory</i> coming in the spring of '03. It's sure to vault to the top of the charts.
This Action-Stragety game lets you take control of a group of soldiers who have to penetrate behind enemy lines and complete mission based objectives. Excellent graphics and game-play is easy to learn.
6) World at War
Europe in Flames really contains 3 games, by Talonsoft <i>East Front</i>, <i>West Front</i>, and the pacifc theater game <i>Rising Sun</i>. These turned based games are huge and cover nearly the entire theater of war. Check out Talonsoft which makes a bunch of other great WWII titles such as Hidden and Dangerious: Devil's Bridge, and many other great war games.
<i>"Take control of the Allied, German, or Russian forces as you engage the enemy in the European theater of war from the German invasion of the Soviet Union, to D-Day, to the last great German offensive in the Ardennes Forest. Utilize ground troops, a vast number of tanks and other motorized vehicles, as well as air reinforcements to crush the opposition."</i>
Latest title in the Close Combat series. Many of the same interface from the first 3 Close Combat titles and offers mission based game-play or multiplayer via the Internet.
This is about the only FPS game in which you battle the Japanese in the Pacific Theater of ware rather than the Germans. Good follow up to the original & popular Deadly Dozen.
10) Wolfenstein 3-D
The original. B.J. Blazkowicz is your name and you must escape from the evil Nazis chasing you and their dungeon. This is the classic game from 1991, yes the graphics don't look good compared to today but this game was revolutionary to the FPS genre.
