Guide Review - The Transformers The Game Review (PC)
The game environments and character models is one area the game does a good job on with very detailed and nice looking graphics. The missions have plenty of game play available to them and even more so if you don't make it through with out dying. Unfortunately there aren't standard check point saves found in most games. This forces players to replay the entire mission from the start which leads to a great deal of repetition.
Game controls and mechanics are another frustarting aspect of the game. The mouse and keyboard controls are awkard and the game mechanics of transforming into a vehicle and driving/flying are just plain bad. Often times it's difficult to drive or fly your transformer with any accuracy and after a while you'll begin to overcompensate and adjust to the bad game physics.
There is some fun in being able stomp around smashing things as your favorite Transformer but unfortunately that can fade rather quickly. Overall the Transformers The Game feels rushed and could have used a few more months in development to iron out some of the problems that plague from making it a fun game.
